Tumbleweed/

A tumbleweed is the upper part of a plant that dries out, breaks loose from the root and rolls along with the wind. In ‘Tumbleweed’ I bring the city’s waste to life in the form of recognisable grey bin bags that, like modern tumbleweed, make their way through the exhibition space. The bags roll slowly and seemingly at random between the visitors. While they look at the art on the wall, they sometimes have to step aside to dodge a rolling bin bag. Thus they are unwittingly forced to adjust their path to these moving objects — and with that, to reconsider their idea of what art is.
